AUSTIN PAYS BIG DIVIDENDS DAYMENT of dividends of 20 per L per cent, on the preferred ordinary stock, absorbing £82,500, and 40 per cent, on the ordinary and A ordinary stock, costing £142,419, is recommended by the directors of the Austin Motor Co., Ltd., Dividends on the cumulative preference stock for the year to July 31 last, absorbed £80,996.

In the past financial year the company made a gross trading profit of £2,249,370, which was reduced by certain charges to £1,886,989. After paying dividends and meeting other expenses, a balance of £368,688 remains to be carried forward.

APROFIT of £32,984 was made by he British Piston Ring Co., Ltd., in the past financial year. This figure was increased by certain items to £50,960. After paying dividends totalling £2,100 on the preference shares and 15 per cent. on the ordinary shares, and meeting other obligations, a balance of £42,028 remains to be carried forward.

LOANED M.A.P. VEHICLES BEING WITHDRAWN

ATOTAL of 2,555 vehicles is still on loan to private companies by the former Ministry of Aircraft Production, now merged with the Ministry of Supply. The vehicles are gradually being withdrawn, and the Minister of Supply is satisfied about the charges made in connection with their usage, he stated last week.
