Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

In recent months there has been a revival in the overseas demand for American commercial vehicles. During the nine months ended September last, 73,657 goods vehicles and chassis, valued at £7,664,320, were exported from the United States, as compared with 70,998 and £6,716,430 repectively in the corresponding nine months of 1934.

The most popular type of vehicle is that for loads of 20,-30 cwt., this category being responsible for 53,980 of the total; for loads up to 20 cwt., 6,549 were shipped; 1G,944 of 4-2i. tons, and 1,754 over 2i tons. The balance consisted of second-hand vehicles.

Another Coal-oil Plant.

Included in a £250,000 plant to be erected at Monkton, Jarrow-on-Tyne, by John Bowes and Partners, Ltd., Newcastle, is a by-product apparatus for the manufacture of petrol, highgrade tar, etc. A start is to be made at once and the plant will be in operation by the beginning of 1937.

New "Maidstone and District" Issue.

An issue of 83,380 ordinary shares of £1, representing • the balance ot authorized capital, is to be made by Maidstone and District Motor Services, Ltd. It is expected that the offer to subscribe for the shares will be made, to the holders of ordinary shares, early in the New Year. It is stated that the new shares will be offered at par.

Processes recommended for both exterior and interior work are lucidly outlined, and the schedules indicate at a glance the operations required on every job, whilst instructions give the drying times. and other details of the materials specified.

The publication is useful as a reference book and an excellent guide. to" paint-shop staffs.
