Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Mitsubishi is offering a plug-in power upgrade for its L200 pickup range, designed to increase both power and torque.

Priced at £595 (plus VAT and labour), the Power Upgrade Pack uses an additional ECU (Electronic Control Unit), which supplements the existing unit on Mitsubishi's Euro-3, 2.5 litre, 4cylinder turbo-diesel engine. The resulting engine management change produces an output increase from 115hp at 4,000rpm to 138hp at 4,100rpm. Maximum torque rises from 240Nm at 2,000rpm on the standard engine to 274Nm at 3,100rpm. Mitsubishi claims that as well as improving engine response, the upgrade also results in a smoother drive at speeds.
