• Pirelli has launched its Energy low-rolling-resistance tyres which, it claims, reduce fuel consumption by up to 5% for a price premium of 4-5%.
Energy tyres will be available from September in sizes 315/80 R 22.5 and 295/80 R 22.5; they are claimed to reduce rolling resistance by 20%. Pirelli says they will pay for themselves after six months on trunkers covering 15,000km a month.
