ROADS used by lorries running to and from ports in East Anglia will be given the "highest priority", according to Transport Secretary David Howell.
At the official opening of the CAST Container Terminal and the inauguration of the new CAST service from Ipswich, he said that it was imperative to allow containers passing through the port to get to and from British markets quickly.
The improvement of the A45 trunk road connecting the Haven ports with Cambridge and the Al has been "one of the key schemes" in the current trunk roads programme, he said.
