EVERY year goods worth flOm are reported stolen from road transport, according to Kogan Page, publisher of the Road Transport Safety and Security Handbook (£11.95), edited by George Burrows.

All commercial vehicles should be fitted with a security device, preferably one that is activated merely by the driver switching off his ignition, says Burrows in a chapter on securit measures.
