A.E.C. ORDER FROM HOUSTON: John Houston and Co. Ltd„ Lambeth, has ordered II A.E.C. tractive units for use with oiland petrol-carrying semi-trailers. Four will be Mandators, with 192-b.h,p. engines and sixspeed gearboxes, and the renrainder will be Mercuries, with 138-blip, engines. TEN MORE FOR LISBON: With the impending delivery of a further 10 A.E.C, Regent Mk.V double-decker chassis to Lisbon Electric Tramways Ltd., the total
number of . and double-deck A.E.C.s operated by this undertaking will be 450. 'these latest chassis will have 1E3-litre engines, MonocontroL transmissions, exhaust brakes and autothatic chassis lubrication, and will he shipped c.k.d. to A.E.C.'s Portuguese distributors, U.T.I.C., who will fit them with front-entrance bodies.
ASHOK LEYLAND TRACTORS FOR INDIA: A recent order . from the Government of India for 14 Ashok Leyland Cornet tractors for the Indian Air Force has now been increased to cover 27 vehicles. They will have ballast boxes and will be used with " Queen Mary "-type trailers or draw-bar bwiters.
BRADY ORDERS IN SIXES: After taking delivery of six Leyland Beaver tractors, the Barrow-in-Furness hauliers, T. Brady and Sons Ltd., have now ordered a further six 140 hp. Beavers, six Jos'-weight 140 h.p. Leyland Badgers and six 150 fhp, Scammell I landyinan tractors.
