Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANEW class of fast drying nonflammable paints was demonstrated by I.C.1. Ltd. at the Industrial Finishes Exhibition at Earls Court this week. The main feature of these trichloroethylene based paints is their rapid drying qualities, which enables work to be handled within one minute. The pigment is similar to that of conventional paints, but a big difference is that no solvent is retained in the paint film, thereby eliminating the need for solvent washing.

, It is claimed that the maximum advantages of these Paints can be obtained by dip coating. By this process a smooth even film, free from runs, tears and fat edges is possible. As a result of quick drying wastage is eliminated.

Initial research and development of these paints was by the Mond Division of I.C.I. Development is being continued and tests are taking place to determine suitable applications including possible use for spraying vehicle bodies, At present it is being used basically as a one-coat paint.
