Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

OPERATORS MUST ensure their drivers carry the correct ID during the Olympics to avoid delays, according to the head of traffic management and parking for the Games.

Mark Bland, of the London 2012 Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), warned that checkpoints will cause significant problems nationwide if drivers don’t have the right documentation.

LOCOG, which is in charge of venue security, will have 98 Vehicle Permit Checkpoints (VPCs) in place, including 25 around UK football stadiums.

The VPCs will be manned by trained, uniformed stewards, and are designed to divert non-Olympic traffic away from each venue’s security checkpoints to prevent tailbacks.

Bland recommends drivers have a delivery note, a headed company paper stating who they are employed by, including contact details, and photo-card driving licence.

“You may not need all three items, but if there is a need to identify [individuals due to a security scare] it might make the process quicker,” said Bland.
