• Stoke-onTrent haulier Eric Wilkinson was ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £1,405 when he admitted making a false statement in order to obtain an Operator's Licence, unauthorised use and failing to produce tachograph records. Wilkinson, of Weston Coyney, admitted unlawfully making a false statement to obtain a licence in 1986, one offence of unauthorised use and one of failing to produce tachograph charts.

Defending, Peter Rose said Wilkinson now had an operating centre at premises belonging to a customer and had applied for an 0-Licence in his own name.
