• Leyland Daf has won a £12m contract with the Royal Mail, marking its biggest order to date for 400 Series vans.
The 1,050 vans will be delivered to Royal Mail Parcelforce over the next three months from Leyland Wt.'s Birmingham plant; all fitted with a high roof to give a load space of 11.4m3. The 3.5tonners are powered by 2.5litre EN55 diesel engines with five-speed gearboxes.
Parcelforce has specified a sliding driver's door with a hinged passenger door. Rear access is via a sliding side door and twin-hinged rear doors.
