Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LEADING tachograph manufacturers assured CM this week that, with only a few exceptions, vehicles registered on or after December 1, 1979, will be fitted and calibrated with tachographs by April 1.

In accordance with the Government's Tachograph Regulations Lucas Kienzle will fit all standard tachographs by the deadline but may not be able to fit some electronic or automatic units due to an increase in demand.

Some delays could possibly last as long as eight weeks because many operators are opting for more sophisticated tachos which can "make life easier" according to a Lucas Kienzle spokesman.

The company does not foresee any major problems, however, and has adjusted its production programme to handle the demand.

Veeder-Root, who offer standard units only until later this year, says that it has no problems at all.
