• Ellen Smith ;Tours) Ltd. was granted an application to raise the maximum charge for its 10 eight-day tours from Bacup and Bury from £25 to £35, and the minimum from £16 to E20, in Manchester on Wednesday.
On an undertaking that five of the shorter excursions would be deleted from the licence, the four objectors withdrew. Maximum fares for their four-day and seven day East Coast tours will be raised from £1 to £14 and £17 to E28 respectively, and th Wembley three-day tour from £8 to £10.10: They operated the eight-day tours in rotatio to give variation, said Mrs. M. Smith, secre tary of the company and to coincide with th local holiday weeks.
