mrm body works of Karrier Motors, Ltd., Huddersfield, have recently been reorganized so that output can be Intensified, and considerable new machinery and laboursaving appliances have been installed in order to permit of
standardisation coupled with the highest class of workmanship in the construction of commercial goods and passenger bodywork. In the paint shops, for example, high-class finish is aimed at, and special dustproof rooms for the varnishing operations have been provided.
All types of body are manufactured here, and particular attention has been paid to the low-load-line passenger vehicle which, in recent years, has gained such a distinct vogue.
The Norfolk type 0 omnibus on the CL-type chassis seats 20 people, and is arranged to be operated by one man, the passengers ell entering through the doorway placed forward on the near side, the seating generally being arranged transversely with a full-width gangway placed centrally. At the rear is an easily operated emergency door.
The Devon type of coach mounted on the ZX-type chassis seats IA passengers and makes a very comfortable coach suitable for long-distance touring, the body being built low and being of pleasing appearance, whilst the upholstery is extremely Comfortable. The V-shaped windscreen adds to the smartness of the vehicle and there is a cleanliness about the body lines which is to be admired.
Sound and substantial work is incorporated in the goodscarrying vehicles, either of the lorry, railway-van or box-van type; smartness of line being regarded as in essential feature in any vehicle turned out from the Karrier works.
