FOR enterprise in body design the Albion Motor Car Co., Ltd., Scotstoun, Glasgow, has always had a considerable reputation and it will be remembered that the Viking coach introduced a few years ago gained a great vogue all over the country.

In box vans, lorries and all types of commercial goods

carrier, Albion work is always sound. and substantial and calculated to give long service. We illustrate a 30-cwt. lorry which has been built to the requirements of the Crown Agents for the Colonies for service on the Gold Coast. It will largely be used for the transport of pipes, and for this purpose a special runway is fitted with a block and falls to facilitate loading and unloading. There is a hinged door at the back of the cab which allows the pipes to be pushed forward under the driver's seat, thus increasing the effective body space. The tailboard can be detached so that, when the vehicle is used for the carrying of pipes, a cradle bar can be fitted at the rear, taking the same keepers as the tailboard. When necessary, in order to give greater height, the whole of the runway can be removed by undoing two

bolts on each side and lifting it away by means of a crane. For shipping purposes the driver's cab is made detachable at the line of the driver's door.

On the 25-cwt. chassis a box van of extremely light construction, having aluminium mouldings and panels throughout and finished in cellulose, con be employed ; thus the fullest possible carrying capacity of this chassis can be obtained.

Built for the Scottish Motor Traction Co., Ltd., and for other users is an overtype bus seating 32 passengers and having the entrance at the rear, the spare wheel, as will be seen from the illustration, being carried in a recess on the near side of the body. We believe the Albion Co. was the first so to recess the body for the accommodation of the spare wheel.

The lines of the 20-seater, all-weather, central:passage type of coach, which is fitted to the latest coach chassis, and having two doors an the near side and one on the off side of the driver's seat, are particularly smart, the lines of the bonnet fairing very well into those of the body.
