Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An engineer has a won a county court judgment (CCJ) against the finance arm of a company which promised him a new life in the USA; now he is encouraging its truck driver clients to do the same.

Vernon Phillips won the CCJ against First Point Finance, the sister company to First Point International which failed to deliver his promised green card.

A Nuneaton County Court has ordered the company to pay Phillips £2,249 (21,980 plus 2,269 interest) within 14 days. If FPF fails to pay, Phillips says he will either file for bankruptcy or force the directors to explain why they cannot pay.

Phillips was not registered on the truck drivers' programme but his programme was virtually Identical. He knows of four drivers who are also planning to start court proceedings against FPF and thinks other affected clients should do likewise. "I have all the legal doc

umentation relating to my case," he adds. "I am willing to let others use this as a blueprint."

Some clients are still being forced to pay monthly instalments to FPF despite repeated advice from US immigration authorities that green cards will not be forthcoming.
