Glasgow." Gordon Leslie II Paisley-based Gordon Leslie, like its stablemate United Carriers, is part of the Frenchowned Gerious Group. Four months ago, at the behest of United Carriers, operations manager Brian Gayler added a 7.5-tonne NQR to Leslie's 30-strong distribution fleet to see how it performed.
"We use it for local delivery work in Glasgow," says Gaylen "Its small size makes it a good vehicle to use in the back lanes where access can be difficult. It's driven by the same driver all of the time and he loves it. The cab is quite small but it's low, so it's easy to get in and out of, and from our point of view it gives a good payload. Ours is fitted with a halftonne tail-lift and we are able to carry four tonnes.
"We normally keep our vehicles for five years," he adds. "I don't know if we'll keep this one as long but it hasn't been an ounce of trouble since we got it—I rate it very highly. I would like to add another to the fleet but next time with a slightly narrower body. That would make it almost Transit size but with the advantage of a bigger payload."
