• Most turbochargers fail through oil starvation, says Agriemach, with damage occurring when a hot engine is stopped and the Impeller has to spin down from around 70,000rpm with zero oil pressure. Cold starts have the same effect as the turbine reaches very high revs before oil pressure builds up. Agriemach's add-on Turbo-Guard lubrication system is said to avoid this lack of lubrication by automatically feeding the turbocharger bearings from its own supply.
Each unit has an oil reservoir, ball valve, hose and connections; it can be installed in about 30 minutes.
