• Pulleyn Transport and Fransen Transport have joined forces to handle the entire UK reefer distribution operation for Fransen's Belgian parent company, European Food Transport (EFT).
Under the deal EFT is selling 60% of its shares in Fransenmost of these shares are believed to have been bought by Pulleyn. Operational control of Fransen Transport will pass to Adrian Pulleyn, chairman and MD of Pulleyn Transport, along with Graham Eames, Pulleyn's operations director, and Henk Buzink, who remains as Fransen's managing director.
The combined UK Pulleyn/Fransen fleet will number around 65 trucks and both partners expect further
growth. However there are no plans to merge.
"We'll both continue to develop our preferred high
value niches. We're not getting on the grocery bandwagon," says Eames.
He adds that Pulleyn aims to
find new openings for EFT in the UK, and he doesn't rule out further acquisitions to strengthen Pulleyn's position.
