• Exports of British-built commercial vehicles have risen by 32.55% over the past 12 months to 43,363 vehicles. Total UK output of CVs over the same period rose 24.17% to 150,045.

• Ferry operator Sally Line has made a £20.87 million offer for Red Funnel ferry line which operates to the Isle of Wight. Last month Red Funnel bought Hampshire haulier Grays Transport (CM 18-24 May).
Italy in EC dock
• EC Commissioner Sir Leon Brittan plans to take the Italian government to court for harassing British drivers for green cards, despite an EC agreement to phase out insurance checks.
Danish network
• Denmark intends to extend its motorway network from 400km to 1,000km within the next decade, with new sections of motorway on Jutland and Seeland.
