THE average daily loss on Belfast Corporation's flat 2d. morning fare rose to £700 for the week ended June 16, as against £500 for the previous week, the Transport Committee was told last week.
The committee heard that the decrease in the full-day receipts for that week, compared with the week beginning Monday, April 16, was £4,360. There was a decrease on Monday, June 11, over the full day, of £1,134.
It was stated that in the week ended June 16, the increase in passengers began to lessen. The previous week, 136,140 extra passengers had travelled on city transport in the two-and-a-half-hour concession period. In the week ended June 16, the figure was 115,691.
