Summary of Proceedings at June Meeting of General Committee.

The monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Commercial Motor Users Association was held at 89, Pall Mall, S.W., on Wednesday, the lath inst.

Present.—Colonel R. E. Crompton (in the chair), Captain R. K. Bagnall-Wild, Captain A. E. Davidson, R.E., Messrs. E. Shrapnel' Smith, H. Lyon Thomson, W. G. Lobjoit, H. W. Wigan, L. G. Oldfield, Chas. Wheeler, F. de Bertodano, John C. Mitchell, D. S. Kennedy, W. M. Hodges, H. Howard Humphreys, and Fred G. Bristow, secretary.

Coronation Motor Parade.—The report of the Parade Committee was adopted, and a special vote of thanks was accorded to Colonel R. E. Crompton, Captain R. K. Bagnall-Wild, and Mr. E. Shrapnel' Smith for the invaluable services they rendered in connection therewith. The thanks of the Association were also to be communicated to the judges and marshals for the assistance they had rendered on the occasion of the Parade, and these gentlemen were to be asked to retain their badges as souvenirs. Arrangements were made for a luncheon to be given to the donors and winners of the various cups awarded in connection with the Parade.

Traffic Obstruction.—Colonel Crompton reported the present position with regard to the 'question of keeping slow-moving traffic to the left of the road, and submitted a draft letter to the members on the matter. It was resolved that the Public Carriage and Traffic Committee of the Association be instructed to proceed with the erection of the notices in the Kensington High Road bearing the words "DRIVE NEAR LEFT KERB," forthwith.

Cab-rank Telephones.A letter was read from the London Motor Cab Proprietors Association stating that they would be glad to co-operate with the Association in the matter of installing telephones at shelterless cab-ranks.

National Automobile Council.—The proposals re the formation of the National Automobile Council were considered, and the panel of delegates to represent the C.M.U.A. was appointed.

Public Roads (Ireland) Bilk—The terms of this Bill were noted, and referred to Colonel R. E. Crompton and Mr. Howard Humphreys for consideration.

Axle-weights and Sizes of Wheels.—A communication was read from the R.A.C. asking for the views of the Association on the question of axle-weights and sizes of wheels. Resolved that information should be communicated on the matter.
