Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Logistics giant NM is negotiating the sale of Allied Pickfords, Britain's largest removals business. NFC says discussions with Van Lines of the US are continuing but there is 'no certainty' of a sale.

Pickfords accounts for 25% of NFC's annual turnover. It employs 2,300 people and has a fleet of 660 vehicles in the UK and on the Continent. Apart from domestic and business removals, it is also involved in crate hire. records management and industrial moving.

Some 75% of Pickfords' business is already in the US and the Asia-Pacific region.

The sale would fit in with NFC's strategy of concentrating on logistics at the expense of purely transport activities, where returns are lower.
