transport committee ttee i launch a major inquiry into subsidy policy.
The committee plans to mine the existing level: subsidy in urban and rural ar and will examine the degrei which subsidies are used lower fares rather than to m tam n levels of service.
Eight major lines of evide are to be pursued by the o mittee, which wants to reo evidence from interested boc by March 21.
The issues include the role the private and public sec with particular reference to changes brought about by 1980 Transport Act.
