Another BRS undertaking in the Membership Services Division is the AA-BRS Rescue, Based at the Communications Centre in Birmingham, Rescue has now been operating for five months.
Gerry Simmons, membership services director, was careful to stress a point he felt most people did not realise about Rescue.
"When a call for help comes through we do not automatically choose the nearest BRS branch. It has to compete with the AA and other nominated agents that we might have in the area. There is definitely no favouritism," Mr Simmons explained.
"Whoever does the job most efficiently and most cost-effectively will be chosen the next time," he added.
