AApparently, the significance of the red
triangle goes back to the year 1900. The triangle is the Greek symbol for the letter "D" which indicates danger. Red, of course, reminds one of blood and so is also indicative of danger; consequently the combination of the colour and symbol is meant to underline the dangers of the situation that lies ahead.
