• The Institute of Transport and the Industrial Transport Association have agreed to enter into formal discussions on the possibility of further integration of their respective activities.
Discussions between the two bodies began in 1970 and resulted in students of the ITA being permitted to sit the IoT's graduateship examination to qualify them for a similar grade within their own association. This year the ITA is dropping the student grade and instead is adopting graduateship (lower) and graduateship (higher). These two new gradings will be permitted to sit the IoT's intermediate examination which is to replace the existing graduateship examination of the Institute.
