AR TICS AND TRAILERS is the title of next week's enlarged special number of Commercial Motor—which also sees the first article in an important new CM series. The February 5 issue will, in particular, feature the following subjects:
• A make-by-make buyers' guide to trailers.
• Tabulated specs of tractive units sold in the UK.
• Colour-coding simplifies trailer 7unit matching.
• Low-loader operation needs an expert touch.
• Truck-and-trailer outfits that unload themselves.

• Some operational factors in vehicle selection.
The latter article is the first in a weekly series under the general title of Fleet Planning, designed to help operators and engineers assess fleet requirements for the short and long term. The special features will include detailed studies of value engineering; tachograph use for productivity purposes, and chart analysis; the prospects for LPG; the economics of demountable bodies; and an engineering view of vehicle selection factors.
