UROPEAN refrigerated transport operators are campaigning or a reduction in the restrictions on their regular operations. Transfrigoroute Europe — the body which represents their tterests — has reacted to lack of progress at an international !yel by passing a resolution to the International Road Transport It wants vehicles which comply with ATP specifications for le carriage of perishable foodstuffs to enjoy the same frontierrossing concessions as apply to railways.
Also, it wants ATP-specification vehicles to be able to operate Europe on Sundays and public holidays and to be free from Ixes on fuel carried in their tanks.
It is pressing IRU to campaign for eased quota regulations thich will include special bilateral or multilateral quota systems Dr vehicles carrying perishable commodities.
TE says these measures are needed to help keep costs to the onsumer in check.
