Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE FIRST AEC 12-metre (39ft 4fin.) Reliance coaches to enter service on British roads will be operated by Premier Travel Ltd., Cambridge and Yelloway Motor Services Ltd., Rochdale. They are the first companies to place orders for the new length coaches since the Minister of Transport recently permitted vehicles of comparable length to Continental standards.

Yelloway has ordered six 12-metre coaches which will be fitted with bodies designed by Plaxtons (Scarborough) Ltd. to seat 53 passengers. Premier has ordered two coaches to be fitted with bodies by W. Alexander (Coachbuilders) Ltd., Falkirk, which will also seat 53 passengers.

All the above chassis will be powered by the AEC AH691 underfloor diesel engine which develops 157 bhp. Transmission will be through a six-speed synchromesh gearbox with overdrive top gear.

Meanwhile Weardale Motor Services Ltd. has received permission to operate 12-metre vehicles on all its stage, express and excursions and tours work (COMMERCIAL MOTOR, November 10).
