Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

EXTENS1ON of road transport nationalization in Mysore has been deferred as the State organization had been losing money for the past four months. Mr. K. C. Reddi, chief minister, Mysore. said this when addressing Government road transport employees recently. He appealed to them to help to make the scheme profitable.

In New Delhi, the Union Parliament has passed the Road Transport Corporation Bill, authorizing the settingup of bodies by State Governments to operate road transport undertakings.

In Pakistan, the transport advisory council has urged the Government to nationalize road transport immediately.

Sir John Kotelawala, Minister of Transport in Ceylon, stated during the recent second reading of the Motor Transport' Bill that nationalization of transport was not suitable in that country, because of the dishonesty of employees.

INCENTIVES FOR EXECUTIVES

AN incentive scheme for executive directors and whole-time officers of the British Electric Traction Co., Ltd.. has been inaugurated. They are to be allowed to take up shares in the company on options which expire on December 31, 1955. The purchase price is such that the options can become of value only if the company grows even more prosperous.

C LICENCES FOR CYCLES

AT Wallington (Surrey) Magistrates' Court, recently, two tradesmen were charged with operating goods vehicles without C licences. The vehicles were in both cases carrier bicycles fitted with auxiliary motors. The magistrates discharged the men, but advised them to take out C licences.

For the prosecution it was stated that a goods vehicle, was a motor vehicle constructed or adapted for the carriage of goods, and that as motorcycles were included in the definition, powered bicycles were considered as lighter types of motorcycle.

The Metropolitan Licensing Authority states that if a sidecar be attached to any motorcycle for goods carriage a C licence is needed. Consequently, any carrier cycle propelled by a motor must have a C licence. • EXPORT OPPORTUNITIES
