• Hauliers' tough bargaining and difficult economic conditions have combined to hit this year's financial performance of the truck and trailer rental operator Dawsongroup.
The group believes hauliers will continue to hold the balance of power with the recovery of
truck rental rates "likely to be a relatively slow process".
As a result, Dawsongroup is to continue its growth in the less volatile trailer rental market.
The group's disappointing fall in pre-tax profit to £4.36m for the period came on a turnover down 5% to £24.1m. It also came after five years of continuous profit growth.
