Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Hauliers in the North-West are using their trucks more efficiently to survive the pressure on rates, according to figures from Manchester-based Iveco Ford truck dealer Quicks Group. It says it is going to concentrate on aftersales and its bodyshop business because operators are putting more effort into maintaining vehicles rather than buying replacements. Its financial results for the six months to 30 June show heavy truck sales falling 4% but a much bigger decrease in its Ford Transit van sales dragged its total commercial vehicle sales down by 17%.

Quicks puts that down to increasing competition from rival light van manufacturers and says its Bolton outlet will sell lveco Dailys, for which demand continues to be strong.
