. Volvo has released details of the Geartronic automatic gearbox for the F12 and F10 tractors which was exclusively revealed by Commercial Motor last month (4-10 July).
The development is based on Volvo's SR1700 12-speed gearbox but uses electronics to effect the gear change. It will become available in right-hand-drive models for the UK next year.
The box can be fitted to the 10-litre F10 as well as the F12, but only if the SR1700 gearbox rather than the more common SR1400 gearbox is used, says Volvo.
Commercial Motor will be publishing driving impressions by technical editor Bill Brock of an F12 installed with a Geartronic gearbox in a coming issue.
