York lands big order

ANOTHER large export order for ISO containers, from Denmark, has been won by York Trailer Co. Ltd. The largest container order ever placed by a Danish company anywhere, it comes from the leading Danish shipping concern. The United Steamship Co. Ltd„ of Copenhagen (DFDS), and is worth about £140,000. Less than a month ago York announced receipt of a million dollar (E400,000) container order from the USA.
DFDS has ordered the containers-20ft standard steel boxes and open-tops—for use on its UK/Denmark, UK/US Gulf and Denmark/ US Gulf services. They will be built at York's container plant at Northallerton, Yorkshire, and delivered in the UK. Completion of the order is scheduled for the end of October. Fast on-time delivery was a major factor in York securing this DFDS contract.
