A'application almost similar to that submitted and rejected in January has been made by the East Kent Road Car Co., Ltd., to the South Eastern Licensing Authority. The company seeks to add id. to fares between 2id. and 51d., Id. to those between 6d. and 2s. 5d.', and 2d. to those of 2s. 6d. and over. Proposals haVe also been made for an advance in return charges, for a. revision in season-ticket and concession rates, and for an increase in the employees' minimum privilege ticket rate.

Barrow-in-Furness Transport Committee's proposals to advance rates have been approved by the council. The Yorkshire Licensing Authority will hear Rotherham Transport Department's application to revise charges on September 10. The hearing by the South Eastern Licensing Authority of the application to increase fares by Maidstone and District Motor Services, Ltd., has been postponed to September 10-11 Adjustments to return charges and an addition of id. to the 4d. single fare, proposed by Coventry Transport Department, will be considered by the West Midland Licensing Authority next week. If approved, they will result in a £94,000 rise in revenue per annum.

The Scottish Licensing Authority has approved fares increases appilied for by Highland Omnibuses, Ltd., -Inverness. They range from id. to 6d. Return tickets less than 6d. may be discontinued and period tickets will conform

to a new scale. '
