A New Registration.

Renard Commercial Motor Co.. Ltd., with an authorized capital of 281,250, and with its office at 82, Victoria Street, Westminster, S.W., and to adopt an agreement with the Renard Road and Rail Transport Corporation, Ltd., and its liquidator.

• Wolseley Co. Again to Make Commercial Models.

We are authorized to announce that the Wolseley Co. once again has in hand a range of commercialvehicle models, and this leading concern, we are glad to hear, will have a supply of suitable models, of entirely new design of the lighter types ready for next season's trade. Manchester Sanitary Committee wants tenders, before the 14th prox., for several motor ambulances.

Alteration to a Girling.'

With reference to the alteration to the carburetter fittings of the Girling parcelcaz belonging to Messrs. J. E. Williams and Co., about which we wrote in our last issue, the Girling Motor Manufacturing Co., Ltd., now writes to us as follows :--" We were interested in the short article that you were good enough to publish last week concerning the parcelcar of our manufacture which is used by Messrs. Williams and Co., of Matlock Bath. We think, however, that with regard to the diagram showing the hot-air connection from the crankcase to the carburetter, it should be pointed out to your readers that, in the event of the least back pressure's being set up in the crankcase, there is more than likely to be an excessive leakage of oil from the bearings. The supply would therefore want constant replenishing, a very wasteful method. We are at a, loss to understand why any hot air connection should be necessary. We ourselves do not find it so with the standard carburetter, and we use nothing but the cheaper grade of Taxibus spirit."

Edinburgh's -Needs.

The Edinburgh Firemaster, Mr_ Pordage, will furnish, on application, detail particulars of the brigade's requirements as follow : three petrol motor fire-engines with plunger-type pumps ; two 50 h.p. petrol motor chassis for use as fire-tenders. Last year, Merryweather's goods were recommended, but the Council decided to defer purchases. It is believed that the Merryweather engines will be chosen again. The 11th prox. is the latest date for quotations.

The New Cunarders.

Mr. H. G. Burford, the managing director of the new commercialvehicle manufacturing concern, British Business Motors Ltd., writes to us as we go to press, giving further particulars of the programme of this new company. We have already indicated this maker's intentions to some extent, and are now able to announce that the programme will include models from one to five tons capacity. They will be known as Cunard business motors. At present the factory is busy on a 20-cwt. model of quite a new type.

More Albions for Sydney.

The Tramways Department of the Sydney (N.S.W.) Municipality has ordered three 32 h.p. Albions. Early last year, two of this same model were ordered as a trial. Both orders have been placed through the Canada Cycle and Motor Agency, of Sydney, the Albion agents, and they have to be added to the lengthy list of repeat orders which is the pride of the works at Scot stoun, Glasgow. Spiral Tubes on Railcars.

An illustration of a type of railcar, several of which have been used in connection with the Panama Canal works, was inserted on the same page as a recent article by Mr. T. C. Aveling, entitled " Main-line Trains for Self-propelled Coaches," in our issue for the 18th of July. This block was the property of Spiral Tube and Components Co., of 61, Northdown Street., King's Cross, N., who remind Us that no acknowledgment was made at the time.

Second-hand Chassis We are notified by Mr. Stuart A. Curzon, auctioneer and valuer, who is sole agent for the disposal of the L.G.O.C. superseded models, that a, further batch of machines which have until recently been in regular service, will be offered by public auction, at nominal reserve, on the 11th prox. Every facility is offered for inspection of the various types of chassis, all by well-known makers, which are now superseded by the company's own make of vehicle. Catalogues, etc., may be obtained from the auctioneer, 9, Grosvenor Road, Westminster.

Pagets' Plan. Mr. W. J. Hobson, the general manager of Pagets, Ltd., of 10-11, Jermyn Street, W., advises us that his company's system of enabling people to buy commercial motors on the deferred-payment system involves very little extra cost. Three per cent. is added to the list price of the vehicle ; one-quarter of the total amount has to be paid down with the order, and the balance is payable in 12 monthly instalments. Special terms are sometimes arranged for longer periods.
