• Friction material specialist Don is starting to rationalise its asbestos brake products this year in advance of the likely forthcoming asbestos ban.
The company's aim is to maintain the full programme of part numbers, without price rises for 1999, by reducing the range of asbestos materials.
The result of this streamlin ing will be 242 items for trucks and trailers (following the discontinuation of 260, 0S12 and RE20), 263 for buses and coaches (244 will be dropped) and 262 for fire engines.
Don will be informing its customers about the latest legislative changes that affect brakes as they occur.
