'Another RHA man who gets involved in extra activities is Bert Simpson, the RHA's Southern area secretary. Not content it seems with attending to the thousands of different needs of his members, Bert has embarked on a new venture — indeed almost a new career.
This week a sixteen page newspaper — RHA Southern News issue three — dropped on my desk. The editor, sub editor, chief reporter, indeed the staff is — yes you've got it — Bert Simpson. Where do they get the time?
Bert's publication has a real professional touch, but he tells me that the first two were not too clever. That's why I've started receiving them at issue three. Or maybe it's because Bert has given a useful plug to CM Lorry Driver of the Year Competition in the current issue.
