Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

YOUR CORRESPONDENT Alex Stewart from the Scottish Highlands (CM 21 September). while understanding the safety rationale of fitting speed limiters to trucks, says that he is confused as to why they don't also have to be fitted to cars and vans, preventing these vehicles from exceeding 70mph.

Doubtless he has overlooked how very easy and profitable it is to collect speeding fines from hapless motorists. Has anyone worked out the total fines involved nationwide?

But it might he a good idea to fit speed limiters to all cars and vans registered in Scotland, simply to test the political water.
