• Conditions were imposed on the licence of W&M Bendrien by North Eastern Deputy Licensing Authority Brian Horner after representations from two of the company's neighbours.

The company, which trades as Architectural Metal Furnishings, of Queensbury, Bradford, had applied to add two vehicles to its existing restricted licence for two vehicles.

Managing director William Bendrien said the company currently operates three vehicles, one of which was below the '0' licence limit. It was intended to dispose of that vehicle and replace it with a larger one. Bendrien also wanted a spare vehicle on the licence in case of future expansion, Keith Cooper, of Hainsworth Moor View, was concerned about the possible increase of vehicle noise and movement at the bottom of his garden. He said a parking area had been constructed. lithe vehicles were parked on it they would spoil his view.

Jean Parkes, of 23 Azlewood Crescent, said she was concerned about the access to and exit from Hill End Lane and about the danger to children when the wagons came through the housing estate.

Bendrien said there had never been an accident involving any of his company's vehicles.

Granting the application, with a condition prohibiting authorised vehicles from using Hainsworth Moor Drive and Ilainsworth Moor View, Horner said he did not feel that the noise and vibration could be related to the operation of the vehicles rather than the operation of the factory itself.

But he was satisfied it was necessary to impose a condition to the route in and out of the operating centre. Most other matters were the concern of the highway authority.
