Vehicle Inspectorate trainer Don Hall certainly knew the drill when he was called up to provide a training course at the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (SEME) in Bordon, Hants. Don is no stranger to khaki having previously served as a Warrant Officer in the army, where he was senior examiner in the training school. This time, however, he was back in mufti to train Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) instructors, Don explains that military vehicles are exempt from annual tests, but adds: They also operate on public roads and it is the MoD's policy to ensure that they also meet the VI's safety standards."
