• Fifth-wheel and drawbar coupling manufacturer VBG is holding a free operator seminar called Artie or drawbar? at the Lord Daresbury Hotel near Runcorn on 16 November.
Among the topics covered will be: new EC legislation for vehicle couplings; the implications of 44-tonnes; and drawbar us artic—choosing the best sys tem. After the seminar delegates will be able to visit VBG's nearby factory.
VBG's Roger Darling says that there has been a growing interest in drawbars following the DOT's decision to harmonise weights at 38 tonnes with artics: "We've got a lot of information we can share with operators and give it impartially," he says.
If the event is popular VBG might organise similar seminars in other parts of the country.
