CIONVERSION kits for semi-trailers which will enable these units to meet the proposed braking efficiency requirements due to become law in 1972 are being offered by York Truck Equipment Ltd., a member of the York Trailer group. Details of parts required for the four main types of system used by York have been issued, but as well as these York will convert semi-trailers of other manufacture and will also give advice on alterations needed to tractive units.

Costs of conversion to braking systems, in eluding installation, range from £38 for a singleaxle model with two-line cam-operated air brakes to £95 for an automatic-coupling semi-trailer. These prices refer only to conversions of York semi-trailers and the service can be carried out at any of the five York branches in the UK—at Corby, Cardiff, Glasgow, Rainham and Warrington.
