Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A CCELERATED drying of cellulose Pland synthetic paints, fillers and stoppers, thus saving time in the repair and retouching of damaged paintwork, is made possible by the use of infra-red paint-repair units developed by the General Electric Co., Ltd., Kingsway, London, W,C.2. The units can also be used for heating engine sumps to facilitate oil draining, and for other similar applications.

A tubular, stand on castors carries units of two or four Osram 250-watt infra-red reflector lamps on counterbalanced radial arms. Spaced at about 9 ins. from the work, the lamp unit gives a maximum uniform heat intensity to an area of about 12 ins. by 6 ins., and the four-lamp unit covers 12 ins. by 12 ins. Beyond these areas the heat intensity gradually decreases. and a lower uniform intensity over larger areas can be obtained by increasing the spacing of the units from the work.

The type of adjustable stand used and its arms enables any part of a vehicle to be reached. The units are suitable for operation on 200-250 volts d.c. or sinele-phase
