• About 200 York Group staff have been made redundant after the receiver failed to find a buyer for York Trailers at North Alterton, and TEC and Transpart at Corby.
Abel Demountable Systems was sold last week.
The factories at North Merton and Corby are still up for sale. All staff, including York Group managing director Jim Davies, have now been made redundant.
The manufacturing rights to all products made by York Trailers and TEC and Transpart have been bought by plant manufacturer Aveling Barford (Machines) in Grantham, and they will continue to be sold under their current names.
York Trailers made container trailers, platforms, and curtainsiders. TEC and Transpart manufactured trailer axles, suspensions and fifth-wheel couplers.
Chesterfield-based Abel Demountables, which manufactures demountable bodies and drawbars, has been bought by WH Davis of Mansfield.
Abel Demountable Systems has 34 staff and an annual turnover of £1.9m.
Mike Tweddle, who had considered a management buy-out, will continue as the firm's managing director.
He says the company is expected to almost double its turnover next year as it begins to export goods on the back of WH Davis.
The continental divisions of York are expected to be sold to their managements.
