Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• AWD has won a 2.70m deal to supply up to 2,000 trucks a year to Iran in the Dunstablebased manufacturer's biggest contract to date.

An assembly line will be set up in Southern Iran in a joint venture with an Iranian company and the first semi-knockdown truck kits will be sent to Iran next summer.

The plant is due to reach its full production capacity by the end of 1993.

AWD was awarded a £70m deal for 2,000 trucks for Zimbabwe last December, but that contract was shared with ERF. The Iranian business will be particularly welcome as AWD sold only 691 vehicles in Britain in the year to end October. There is considerable demand for new trucks in Iran as imports of non-military goods were restricted during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s. The first trucks to be sent to Iran will be 26-tonne TL six-wheelers. Also included in the deal will be 19-tonne Ms, 32.5-tonne two-axle tractive units and 38tonne TM40 tippers with 298kW (400hp) Caterpillar engines.
