Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• In reply to Mr Chippendale's letter (CM 14-20 Nov), the wheel studs referred to are supplied to Seddon Atkinson by a major axle supplier and we use this supplier's recommended selling prices.

The changes in prices were contained in their price catalogue dated July 1991, and were automatically implemented in our Service Parts Price List of 5 August 1991. In October Mr Chippendale brought to my attention the increase in price of these wheel studs and I have subsequently been able to advise him that the recommended retail selling prices have been reduced to £7.25 each with effect from November, T J Hastewell Managing director, Seddon Atkinson Spares & Service Ltd, Preston, Lancs.
