LATEST ENTRANT into the international groupage business is SPD Ltd with its Unispeed Ltd company. At present operating from Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester, the new service is expected to commence operations from London shortly.
Representative minimum rates for consignments to Paris (Garonor) are from Birmingham £4.25, Manchester £.6 and from Glasgow £7. SPD associated companies in countries on the Continent will work with the UK company in completing the forward journey and destination distribution.
Journey time from Birmingham to Garonor will be 24 hours and from other originating points 48 hours. Similar arrangements have been made with associated companies in other countries. The vehicles are driver accompanied throughout and comprehensive insurance cover is provided.
