Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Chamberlain Industries now have a larger model in the Staffa Range of hydraulic motors.

Known as the B45, it follows the same constructional principles as the others but has better styling in that it has an integrated motorcase and valvehousing casting. This is also useful in mobile equipment applications where strength and the ability to withstand occasional high-pressure peaks are desirable.

The B45 motor has a speed range up to 400 rpm in either direction, and a maximum continuous torque output of 1,700 lb.ft. It weighs only 2651b.

Basically intended for direct coupling without the use of a gearbox, the B45 is particularly suitable for tracked vehicle drives, for conveyors, earthmoving plant, machine tools and transfer mechanisms.

As with all motors in the Staffa range, the 845 is a fixed displacement type with variable speeds in both directions being achieved through a variable delivery pump.

The crankcase and cylinder block casting bores are machined and honed to close tolerances. End caps are secured by high-tensile cap screws to the

monobloc casting. Heavy-duty Timken roller bearings are suitably spaced to support an overhung-shaft load in excess of 3.5 tons, according to operating conditions. The singlethrow crankshaft is of forged steel, hardened and ground and with the load-carrying portions of the shaft being especially heattreated.

The new model is hydrostatically balanced with high-pressure oil passing through the piston crown to the ball end and thence to the slipper bearings which bear on the crankshaft.

The connecting rods, hardened and mirror-finished at the -small-end" are furnished with a high load-capacity slipper on the "big-endbearing against the crank pin. The internal end of the crankshaft drives a floating pintle-type valve via and Oldham coupling.

Chamberlain Industries maintain a staff of hydraulics engineers available to advise on any problems relating to hydrostatic transmission.
